Editors note: The Singapore - Hong Kong Air Travel Bubble has been postponed. We will update this article when it opens.
More air travel corridors are slowly being announced. One of the world busiest routes, Singapore to Hong Kong is aiming to open theirs on the 26th of May. This means quarantine-free travel between the two city states.
In the past (before Covid) the route saw a flurry of flights throughout the day and Singapore Airlines even sent its A380 on this relatively short 4 hour trip. Most shorthaul aircraft are perfectly capable of making the journey, however it is almost predominantly flown by wide body aircraft. This is not ideal from a carbon footprint point of view and would be far better served with a smaller more efficient plane type. Below you will see the list of types that currently fly the route. We are including for A380 for comparison purposes.
